Recently read an article in the Times Newspaper were the Community of Woodford Hill in the North East of the island were given approximately two months to make up their minds on whether they want a major 200 hotel resort built on the coastline there and lose access to the most popular beach in the area. It appears the investors who want to build a US-60 million dollar resort told the Tourism Minister Yvor Nassief that they are prepared to build the resort with the condition that the beach in Woodford Hill will be reserved only to the guest.

According to Nassief; the high end operators are concerned about beach access, beach safety and beach control. “When visitors come and spend 5, 6, 7, 800 bucks for a room, they do expect for privacy and safety.

It funny that Mr. Nassief will make such a comment were in Barbados Tourism is their #1 sector and were there are multi – million beach properties, the government of Barbados have made it possible that every bajan has access to the beach.

So are we ready to loose our rights to our Nature Isle to some visitors who spends 5, 6, 7, 800 bucks a night?
