For the first time in history, Lord Karessah from Marigot is the 2009 Calypso King of Dominica. He outclassed the nine other contestants with his signature renditions ‘Pastor Rod‘ and ‘Calypso Too Patriotic’.
King Karessah also captured best stage presentation trophy, and the grand prize of EC$20,000.00. He also took the runners-up prize the Stardom king of the Tent.
First runner-up went to Observer and coming in as second runner-up went to Tarina. The other Calypsonians who took part in the finals were Picky, Man Himself, Lady Star, Hunter, Scrunter, Sugar S, and Sye.
