Hi Julianne…It’s great gesture that you’re willing to volunteer some of your time and experience. But seeing that your husband will be attending Ross U, it’s likely that you guys will be renting an apartment in the Picard, Glanvillia or Portsmouth area.

I’m not certain, but I believe that Ross University front office will be a great place to start - the university plays a active role in Portsmouth and the nearby communities by sponsoring different community projects and youth groups. I won’t surprise if they’re able to point you in the right direction.

Beside that Dominica is a very small island and the people are very friendly, soon you’re going to make lots of new friends in the area - then you can always ask them.

Take care Julianne and I hope you enjoy your stay in Dominica.

Hi. I'll be in Dominica soon, as my husband will be attending medical school at Ross. I've been a high school teacher here in the US and am interested in what you've written about women's education. I will most likely have some time on my hands while my husband studies, and I would like to help out. Is there a specific organization already at which I could volunteer? Where would you recommend I expend my efforts?
Thanks.
