Q95News - Speaking at the official launch of the re-branding of the Dominica National Lottery on Tuesday, CBN Dominica Incorporated Managing Director, Stuart Gooding, says security and confidentiality are the common threads that bind the CBN Group of companies together and as such they will be using the Abrazo Lottery System, a leading edge technology, which he says will catapult the national lottery to the next stage of its development and will provide one of the most technologically advanced lottery systems in operation. Meantime, CBN Tech Support, Ian Mackenzie, says the launch of the Abrazo Lottery system in Dominica is the 8th launch of this system which he says is designed to support flexibility and security. Mr. Mackenzie gives some insights into the Abrazo system.
I do not believe it is a good to rebrand the lottery in Dominica this will encourage more crime in your Island.I believe you should stop it completely. It will encourage the young people to start scaming and doing more crime. This is what is causing all the crime in the caribbean islands.
I do not see how a Lottery system influences crime when it is under the control of Leaders or government of its country. In fact a lottery system is a good way of financing serious needs of its country, in that its profits should go towards those needs, and other important aspects.
It is true that buying a lottery ticket is also part of gambling, but gambling is not the crime. We gamble out our life everyday, even by hopping into our cars and setting out to work. That means we know an accident can happen, and that day could be the last day we will ever exist in physical body. But we must use the car to get to our jobsite, so what do we do? That is a gamble with our lives as well, but we do it with humility, sincerity, and hope for the better. We get a paycheck at the end of the week.
It is the same way with buying a lottery ticket. The majority of us do not expect to win anything, so we know that we are putting our money into a possible lost. But most of us would like to win even a small part, maybe just to get back the money we spent. So we try to do it with a little optimism. And we say win or lost, nobody put a gun at my head to do it.
The conduct of crime is different and influenced through the minds of those who are greedy, envious, jealous, and lack self-control. This corrupted mind commits all sorts of crime, including illegal gambling. However illegal gambling is always done in secret, until the fugs are disclosed.
A Lottery System that is controlled by the government of its country is not illegal gambling. It should not hurt anyone. People must learn to exercise self-control in all their walks of Life. This means that we have to remain in tact of our limits–to know when to say that is enough. Those who do not win should not consider their money as a loss, but as a contribution to the betterment of their country’s social issues. It is easier to buy a lottery ticket with the hope or winning than to put the money in a collection box with no idea what it will be used for. And of course, bravo! To those who win!
