Clean Energy CEO Asks Government - Why a foreign company?

west indies power front page

The plans to produce geothermal energy in Dominica will not have the backing of one of Government’s main followers, since Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit decided to award a contract to a foreign company. West Indies Power Dominica Limited (WIPD) has been granted a geothermal exploration and development license in Dominica.

Minister Prime Skerrit announced that the Cabinet has agreed to issue the license on the grounds that company could develop the geothermal resources located in the southern part of Dominica. But a local Company called Clean Energy, headed by Washway Douglas is saying that the Government could be making a big mistake and it’s the wrong direction for geothermal energy in Dominica.
