The Dominica Labour Party (DLP) has been officially declared the winner of the December 18th 2009 Dominica general elections with a landslide victory, by winning 17 of the 21 seats in the country’s parliament. Just one constituency (seat) shy of DLP predicted eighteen seats.
This is the second consecutive victory at the polls for Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit taking 4 additional seats formerly held by the opposition United Worker Party.
Here are the 17 constituencies (seats) won by the Dominica Labour Party: Roseau South, Roseau North, Roseau Valley, Petite Savanne, Scottshead, St Joseph, Morne Jaune, Cottage, Vielle Case, Portsmouth, Salybia, Colihaut, Paix Bouche, Mahaut, Castle Bruce, Grand Bay and Wesley.
The United Workers Party won 3 constituencies (seats), and they are Roseau Central, La Plaine and Salisbury.
