Q95News – Hector John, one of the three elected members from the opposition United Workers Party, calls the government into question for failing to represent the true interest of the people. He mentions specifically MP for Layou, Honourable Kelver Darroux who he says failed to bring the struggles and concerns of the villagers of Layou to the fore at the last sitting of parliament. John also stated that in Morne Rachette, a village whose majority is supporters of the Labour administration, the people have been left to fend for themselves as pertains to the deplorable state of their road network. Honourable Hector John also took issue with the Minister of Agriculture, Honourable Matthew Walter.
Hector believes that the Minister’s recent trips to various areas, including Salisbury, to witness the effects of the drought like conditions on farmers’ crops was a show for the media and an attempt to be regarded as someone who has true interest in Dominican agriculture.
