A Dominican residing in the United States is looking to land a major music contract and has called on his countrymen to assist him. His name is Jefferson Scotland of Wall House Dominica who now resides in the US and goes by the stage name “Klass Money”.

Roseau to receive history of EC supreme court 21.APR.08
The history of the eastern Caribbean Supreme Court of appeal has been documented and will be released in Roseau on Monday.
“The eastern Caribbean Supreme Court; model regional court” has been written by has been written by former lecturer of the faculty of law at cave hill campus, Grenadian born Dr. Francis Alexis.
The book is edited by the UWI law librarian, Dr. Velmond Newton and printed by the government printery of Dominica. It features the history of the sub regional court forty years after its establishment.
Man wins $230,000 in lottery 21.APR.08
The father of a popular radio announcer is EC $ 230,000 richer after winnings in the super six lottery. Creole Announcer Kawana Fonatine collected the cheque on her father’s behalf at a brief ceremony held on Friday.
She said her father, Stanlius Fontaine is now able to afford much needed medical treatment overseas as a result of his winnings.
According to Ms. Fontaine her father was in Roseau paying bills when he remembered that he had purchased a ticket for the super six game. Upon checking the numbers Mr. Fontaine realized that he had all six numbers and was the latest Jackpot Winner.
Government remains committed to increasing minimum wage 18.APR.08
Public officers in Dominica have been reassured that government remains committed to increasing the country’s minimum wage. Private sector bodies here have been meeting with government for sometime now, with a view to bring further relief to Dominicans by revising the minimum wage. However, those talks have been delayed as the parties fail to agree on by exactly how much wages should go up.
Minimum wages in Dominica run as low as EC $2.00 for some jobs.
Minister responsible for Labour Rayburn Blackmoore told trade unionists Thursday that government remains committed to bringing relief to Dominicans.
New British consul for Dominica 18.APR.08
A new british commission honorary consul has been appointed for Dominica. Nabeel Bhatti Chief Executive of Cable and Wireless Dominica replaces Curtis Clapham who now resides in St. Lucia.
Bhatti is now responsible for British nationals either residing in or visiting Dominica who require emergency consul assistance. It is being noted however that routine consul inquiries and all visa issues are to be dealt with in Barbados.
