NEBI Hosts “Small Business Development Semester II”

The National E-Business Incubator (NeBI), in collaboration with the University of Technology Jamaica, is currently hosting level two of the Incubator’s “Small Business Development” series of training workshops for developing the capacity of Small Businesses.

The workshops commenced in July and will continue until the end of August this year. Level one in the series was held between February and April 2009. Over 40 participants received training in eight courses during “Small Business Development Semester 1”. Participants included representatives and owners of small businesses, departments of Government and corporate Dominica.

The initiative presents an opportunity for Dominican Entrepreneurs, departments of Government, NeBI Partners and their staff to build their skills and knowledge sets in the areas of Information and Communication Technology, Marketing, Human Resource Management and the Legal requirements of establishing and operating a successful business.

Training modules are being delivered by expert Faculty of the University of Technology and include courses such as: Advanced Tools for IT and E-Commerce, E-Commerce for Small Business, Costing and Pricing, Using QuickBooks & MS Excel for Developing Financial Components of Business Plans, Business Growth and Development, Marketing Strategies for Small Businesses, Human Resources Management Issues and Legal Aspects of Business II.
