Protest Action the Carib Territory Monday Disrupts School and Other Serices

Kairi Fm News -The Kalinago people are up in arms with Carib Chief Garnet Joseph and His Council over the delay of a proper playing facility which they think is long overdue.

They have since taken to block the main streets leading in and out of the Carib Territory until the Chief comes up with a possible solution to their problem.

The protesters say for some time now the Chief has promised them a proper playing field but he keeps pushing back the date. They say the situation is frustrating and they are fed-up.

The protest which began in the early hours of Monday morning has affected the free flow of traffic in and out of the reserve. Students are not able to attend school and persons are not able to go to work.

Protesters told Kairi FM they will continue their action until a solution is found
