Elected Representative for the Salisbury Constituency Hector John says Prime Minister Skerrit’s announcement of the dates for Bi-elections is an attempted distraction from the serious issues currently facing the state.
According to Mr. John, the Prime Minister should be more concerned over the upcoming IMF budget report, which is expected to disclose that foreign direct investment has declined by as much as 50%, and remittances have declined by 18%. Following a question put to the opposition by Prime Minister Skerrit on the day he announced the dates for Bi-election and for nomination day, John says he will be contesting his Salisbury seat once the bi-election is determined to be legal and constitutional, but he gave no definitive answer as to whether or not he will be going to the House of Assembly if he were to retain his seat. John only spoke to bigger picture of the major concerns of the UWP, which led to their decision to boycott parliament.
