Dominica’s beloved calypsonian, Dice (Dennison Joseph), has etched his name even deeper into history by securing his 10th Calypso crown at the National Calypso Competition finals! Five years after his last win, Dice delivered a mesmerizing performance that captivated both audience and judges, solidifying his reign as the undisputed king of calypso.
His powerful renditions of “Wanted” and “Bring Money,” both penned by his longtime collaborator Pat Aaron, showcased his unmatched talent and stage presence. In a fiercely competitive final, Dice emerged victorious, edging out former champion Trilla G (second place) and promising newcomers Shanice (third place) and Joy (fourth place).
The competition was fierce, with seasoned veterans like Liberator, The Bobb, Tasha P, De Webb, Checker, and Black Diamond bringing their A-game. But Dice’s experience and captivating performance proved too strong.
This victory marks a remarkable milestone in Dice’s illustrious career. He first claimed the crown in 2004, followed by wins in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, and 2019. With 10 crowns under his belt, he has cemented his legacy as one of Dominica’s most celebrated calypsonians.
