We will be arriving in June, but only for a month's stay. We plan to return for a month again around Christmas-New Year. But we can't actually retire to Dominica until 2008. I am retired now, but Ruth must work through at least April 2008 in order to secure permanent availabilty of medical insurance for the two of us. Her actual retirement date is October 2008, but her boss may let her take early retirement after April 2008. We have been coming to Dominica since 1987. In 2004 we bought our land and built the first stage of our home in Calibishie, after having lived in a rental cottage for a month. We have just completed the expansion phase of our building, on the ground floor. In 2008, we will build the final permanent living space on the first floor while living on the ground floor. When we move upstairs the ground floor will serve as lodging for friends and relations who visit, or can perhaps be offered for live-in help as we become older.
