Calibishie is a small village on the North-East Atlantic side of Dominica, which has developed into one of the more popular tourist base communities on the island. Maybe it’s because of the many breathe taking views and beaches nearby. The village shelters some of finest restaurants, local souvenir shops and lodging accommodations like Calibishie Lodges.
As soon as we arrived at Calibishie Dan and Ruth took us took us to one of the nearby beaches on Pointe Baptiste. It’s so beautiful there. Take a look!
Now I understand why Dan and his wife Ruth made Calibishie their choice to spend their remaining years. The Tanners are not the only Americans who have expatriated from the U.S and made Dominica their new home. There are also fellow bloggers like Jennifer and her husband (Mr. Wizard) of living Dominica and Paul of Living Island. There is just something magical about this island that makes you always wanting to come back. Here is a open invitation…come experience Dominica for yourself

Calibishie and the Northeast Coast of Dominica are truly beautiful. Great beaches, beautiful coastline, red rocks, beautiful turquoise seas and greenery galore. At this point, not a lot of really comfortable places to stay. Calibishie Lodges is decent but can get hot at night, as they are on the wrong side of the hill for the breeze. There is a great new place opening in August, Calibishie Cove, http://www.calibishiecove.com, that looks like it is going to be quite luxurious with amazing views and designed for great breezes and total comfort day and night.
