Ramblings From The Nature Paradise of Dominica

Did you guys had the opportunity to watch the Olympics opening Ceremonies in Beijing? Mann!!! That’s the most amazing opening of a ceremony, or opening of any event, that I have every seen! The Chinese’s definitely went all out for their Olympic coming out party. China have set the bar so high that when it is the for Vancouver time to host the games in 2010 it will look like a little side show. Then again, China’s budget for the summer games is somewhere close to $45 billion compared to $1.6 billion for Vancouver’s winter games.

If you haven’t watched the opening ceremonies, there should be an encore tonight by most of the major networks. It’s definitely worth watching. Here are some photos of the opening Ceremonies that was provided by Getty Images.

US President George Bush has signed into law trade benefits for Haiti, nations of sub-Sahara Africa, and the Andean group.

The bill had faced opposition from business and congressmen who were concerned by what they claim was the re-exportation of largely Chinese textiles sewn in Africa and Haiti in particular.

In a letter to party leaders eight senators from the solidly Republican South wrote that their states already had lost one hundred textile jobs under trade agreements.

But President Bush believes that free trade is good for developing countries and regions like the Caribbean.
