Experience Dominica – The Nature Island: Dominica Vacations | Exotic Vacations | Honeymoon Destination

Dominica weekly is a personal weblog about the nature island of Dominica.

The year 2008 in Dominica was one of mixed and confusing signals. Oil price rose to the roof, yet the number of cars increased drastically in 2008.

The cost of living went up, and all over the Caribbean, people complained about prices on basic food items – until local governments were force to take drastic measures to ease the burden.

Experts said the economy was improving, but jobs remained scarce. It was a year where Dominica saw the highest crime rate – up by more than 4%.

What’s going on? Out of the confusion of 2008, is there any hope of making reliable predictions about 2009?
