Dominica Island Blog: Sharing Every Dominican Moment with the World

With all the excitement from the ICC Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean, Education and Sports Minister Vince Henderson announced at the opening of Windsor Park Stadium on March 23. There were rumors that Dominica would be hosting some ICC Cricket practice games. But I guess this felt through like everything else in Dominica. Thanks to the People Republic of China for building one of the best sport Stadium in Caribbean. What’s my Opinion.

As the countdown gathers pace towards ICC CWC 2007 which starts with Warm-up matches on March 5, host Venues need to brace themselves for the thousands who will descend on the region, eager to experience the trademark excitement for which the tropical archipelago is famed.

Jamaica alone had an estimated 1.68 million stop-over passengers and 1.33 million cruise passengers and the other Caribbean Island including Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados (which recorded 560,000 stop-over visitors in 2005) and Saint Lucia. With the Cricket World Cup added to the mix –  will these countries are even more attractive as vacation spots or will it deter stop-over passengers?
