Experience Dominica – The Nature Island: Dominica Vacations | Exotic Vacations | Honeymoon Destination

Dominica weekly is a personal weblog about the nature island of Dominica.

When you live in the present moment, one of the nice things that happens to you is that ordinary, everyday life takes on a new significance.

Taking walks, watching a sunset, gardening, reading a book, all begin to feel special. Life is right now, right here. When your attention is brought back to the here and now, you engage in life rather than think about life. Ordinary life becomes extraordinary life.

I have been criticized at times for being too simplistic in my approach to happier living. People find it difficult to believe that simple solutions can be so effective. It’s simple, but it works!

If your mind can sabotage even beautiful experiences, such as spending time with or receiving a phone call from someone you love, you can imagine how easy it can be to ruin your life over events and circumstances that are, in fact, difficult. It’s critical to learn to live in the present.

You need not worry that you’ll lose any effectiveness in making plans for the future if you aren’t focused on it. Life is a series of present moments, one right after another. Living them to the full prepares the future. What’s more, when the future does arrive, you will have learned and practiced how to live in the present moment and you’ll be able to enjoy your future as much as you can enjoy today.

– Thanks Dominica!

Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” is one of my all time favorite songs.
