Global Crossing, the leading global IP solutions provider announced that it is working with Global Caribbean Network (GCN) a subsea cable operator headquartered in Guadeloupe, French West Indies,which seeks to enhance global IP connectivity to the Caribbean region.

With this agreement GCN’s customers will now have access to Global Crossing’s state-of-the-art global network, so they can connect to any of the 600 cities in 60 countries where Global Crossing delivers services and likewise Global Crossing will be able offer its own customers services in 13 additional countries in the Caribbean.

GCN will interconnect its voice and data traffic services arriving from the Caribbean to Global Crossing’s IP network in St. Croix, via 10-Gigabit wavelengths, enabling GCN to extend its services to North America, Europe and Asia.

According to the 2006 telecommunication Industry review, the Caribbean is the fastest growing broadband market in the world.

With this agreement by Global Crossing & GCN will we see a reduction in the price of broadband service in the Caribbean?

Windows Vista Home Premium: Includes improved security and search as well as the “Aero” user interface, Windows Media Center, Windows Tablet PC technology, integrated DVD burning. Intended for higher-end PCs with at least a gigabyte of memory. $239 for full version; $159 for upgrade.

Windows Ultimate: Includes all features of Home Premium as well as features from versions designed for businesses. Also promised are additional features, called Ultimate Extras, that can be downloaded from Microsoft, including a tool that animates the desktop background and an advanced image-editing tool. $399 for full version; $259 for upgrade.
