Day one of the 2008 Creole in the Park is officially over as WCK performed their last song sometime around 6:30pm.
Considering the fact that I’ve been to every Cable and Wireless Creole in the Park since the event originated six years ago. By now you would think that I’ve gotten over all the excitement, but as always Creole in the park is truly an experience beyond words and day one was no exception. It was so exciting to see friends I haven’t seen since at high school graduation . And I’ve to admit, its difficult remembering all their names or maybe I had too much beer – can’t blame me, its Reunion time baby! 😆 .
The Giraudel Jing Ping got things started off on the main sound stage with a strong cultural performance as crowd start to assemble into the park. In the second act of the day was Ray Holman, Athie Martin and Friends followed by a performance by the Paix Bouche Cultural Group – which was then followed by the official opening ceremony for Creole in the Park 2008.
Later, on the main stage was some of Dominica’s Local Reggae Artists (Dr. Silk, Aima and Atunya) and was followed by the First Serenade band preforming some of their hit tracks from the pass. In the final performance of the day which was also on the main stage, WCK brought the house with an electrifying bouyon performance.

As I concluded day one of the 2008 Creole in the Park, I can honestly say that I enjoyed myself, and the fact that I was able to meet-up with many Dominicans/friends I haven’t seen in a very long time made things even better. With that said, I encourage you to stay tuned for day two.
