The second hike at this year’s Hike Fest highlighted segment four of the Waitukubuli National Trail (in reverse) – a moderate hike idle for nature lovers.
The 11.7 km hike started at centre of Dominica in an area called Pond Casse (which means Broken Bridge in Creole), and ended at the Laudat recreational Centre.
On this segment of the Waitukubuli National Trail you will travel through the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and offers views of several mountains, encounters of natural attractions and reminds us of Dominica’s rugged nature and rich heritage.
Some of the Areas of Interest includes: View of Morn Micotrin, Morn Watt, Morn Jaune, Morn Nichols, Morn Anglais, Morne Trois Piton, and Sulphur Springs.
Nearby Attractions: Boiling Lake, Fresh Water Lake, Middleham Falls, Striking Hole, Chemain Letang Historic Trail, Trafalgar Falls, and Boeri Lake & Trail. Here are some images from along the trail…enjoy!
