Michael jackson

Many might say that Michael Jackson’s success was his downfall – that he was so big, successful, so popular that he become troubled and isolated. But there are many other lessons that we can learn from the life of Michael Jackson.

There is the issue of child care – whether we choose to believe the rumours that Jackson was abused physically and mentally when he was child, rumoured abuse may have contributed to his sometimes incomprehensible behavior.

In addition, Michael’s life underscores the negative impact of the entertainment industry on the lives of child entertainers; the industry may rob child entertainers of their innocence.

However the bigger issue is one of self acceptance. It is rumoured that the transformation of Michael’s Negroid features to Caucasian may have been self-induced. That is one of the major reasons why many African Americans say Michael Jackson betrayed the black community, that he may have been ashamed of the colour of his skin. But others respond, by quoting Michael’s lyrics: “It don’t matter if you’re black or white.”

President Barack Obama did prove that content of character transcends race. In Michael Jackson’s case it was star power.

This is a warning to all the seekers of fame and fortune – these are cruel masters that rob their victims of not only their privacy but the opportunity to be like us-ordinary folk. Rest in Peace, MJ – the greatest entertainer who ever lived.

If it doesn’t matter, why did he try to be white?

One’s skin is one of one’s largest organs, with major roles in respiration, vitamin production, and the first line of defense against protection. Damage it at your own peril. I can’t help but think that his misguided efforts to look like a young white woman instead of a black man ruined his health and hastened his death.

Maureen, I believe you mean “you’re a legend”. You’re is a contraction of you are. Your is the second person possessive pronoun. I agree he’s a legend, because a legend is a non-historical or unverifiable story handed down by tradition.

Chris, Maureen, I suggest you consider some real greats, like Louis Armstrong or Count Basie, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole or many others I could name as entertainers, and as outstanding human beings too. Or a sports figure such as Jackie Robinson or Jesse Owens, or Hank Aaron.

Chris, I think that it’s time for a new posting on this site. MJ is dead and many of aren’t lamenting.

Dan…The main reason I responded to this topic was to put the record straight about the lies the press keep spreading about his skin colour. So please watch the following video link & you might learn a thing or two:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6xJlyJgfS8

I am well aware of the other greats you mentioned, but the fact of the matter, MJ just a few years older than myself & I grew up listening to his music. I had also seen him performed live when he came to the UK in the late 80’s & was the best concert I ever been to.

I’m the first to admit my writing may not be upto scratch…No hard feelings…

Michael Jackson was indeed misunderstood by everyone whether it be society or media. We all knew that Michael had a skin disorder just as doctors stated but obviously, some of you are in denial of that truth……..so sad. Michael did not try to be white! Just as he was accused of child molestation which also were not true cos the same kid (now a man) came forward and admitted to everyone that he lied and that his father had put him up to do it. People are doing anything for money these days, I mean Michael was a billionaire! Yeah, some of you may say where is the truth in that confession? But at the same time where’s the proof to show that Michael did those things?

There is so much that one person can take in their lifetime and that was what killed him but he was Michael Jackson, point fingers at him….poor guy he had feelings just like the rest of us. Dan, for your info, people are still lamenting for Michael cos he was the greatest entertainer that ever lived and he was incomparable with any other artist. He was a phenomenon in his own right. He was a true humanitarian who contributed worldly. Now he has died and he would be remembered by the whole world unlike any other talented artist who may die and half of the world do not know him/her ever existed.

Luv you always Michael Jackson (The King of Pop)
