The National Banking of Dominica yesterday launched its new online banking service which allows customers to control their money and securely access their accounts, including credit card account, pay bills and process international wire transfers over the internet.
The launch of the bankâ€™s online service is a great step in the right direction by attempting to provide a better banking experience to all of its customers. According to the bankâ€™s website, its online banking service will allow customers to transfer money between accounts, international wire transfers, company payroll, order cheque books, view account activity, utility bill payments and moreâ€¦
Firstly, let me say that visually the design of the website is great, but I couldnâ€™t help noticing a few changes that bank could do to make the user experience much better.
1.One of the first things I observed when I tried signing up for an online banking account is that you canâ€™t sign up for an account through the website. Which basically that takes out the whole idea of online banking. To make matters worse when you click one of the link under the ‘Sign upâ€™ section, a PDF file comes up which you canâ€™t fill-up online. Which means you must print the form and take into one the banks branches.
2.Secondly, I believe the bank should indicate that the website is still in a Beta stage; because itâ€™s clear to see that certain features are still being developed. For example, the site talks about a â€˜Demo – online experienceâ€™, but if you click on the link it only takes back to the top of the page.
But all-in-all the National Bank of Dominica new online banking service is a great initiative by the bank to help in its customers banking experience.
