Purely Dominica

That’s a very good question. Many people have lived their whole life trying to answer this question. But how do you discover you real purpose in life? And I’m not talking about your job, your daily responsibilities, or even your future goals. I’m talking about the real reason why you’re here at all – the very reason you exist on this planet we can earth.

Well if you’re a nihilistic person who doesn’t believe you have a purpose and that your life has no meaningful purpose. Well this post maybe doesn’t matter to you. One thing I have learnt in life is that not believing that you have a purpose won’t prevent you from discovering it, the only thing will it be too late then.

Here is a post I read recently by Steve Pavlina, one of the best personal development bloggers, on how to discover your purpose in life.

While there are many ways to do this, some of them fairly involved, here is one of the simplest that anyone can do. The more open you are to this process, and the more you expect it to work, the faster it will work for you. But not being open to it or having doubts about it or thinking it’s an entirely idiotic and meaningless waste of time won’t prevent it from working as long as you stick with it — again, it will just take longer to converge.

Here’s what to do:
1. Take out a blank sheet of paper or open up a word processor where you can type (I prefer the latter because it’s faster).
2. Write at the top, “What is my true purpose in life?”
3. Write an answer (any answer) that pops into your head. It doesn’t have to be a complete sentence. A short phrase is fine.
4. Repeat step 3 until you write the answer that makes you cry. This is your purpose.

That’s it. It doesn’t matter if you’re a counselor or an engineer or a bodybuilder. To some people this exercise will make perfect sense. To others it will seem utterly stupid. Usually it takes 15-20 minutes to clear your head of all the clutter and the social conditioning about what you think your purpose in life is. The false answers will come from your mind and your memories. But when the true answer finally arrives, it will feel like it’s coming to you from a different source entirely.

When I did the exercise, it took me about 30 minutes, and I reached my final answer at step 53. Here is my final answer: to live consciously and courageously, and to enjoy everyday life.

When you find your own unique answer why you’re here, you will feel a deep sense of comfort inside you. The words will seem to fill you with this special energy and you will feel that same energy whenever you read them.

Going through this whole processing on How To Discover Your Life Purpose, is just the easy part. The hard is keeping the energy in you on a daily basis and working on yourself until you reach the point you become that purpose

I have made this. This is something outstanding!
And I want to share with my thoughts.
The main, the greatest purpose of the whole my life is:
Just to be happy every day, everywhere, everytime.
Even then I need (not must) to do my homework, my every day responsibilities I can just be happy – this is my purpose- not to think that I’m loosing the time.
Just be happy that I’m alive.
Many people have illnesses, they sometimes have pain in their body, sometimes they have mental pain. But we are just human beings. Maybe it’s normal to feel pain one day. The main idea not to be angry of this pain. just continue to live your life.
Just be happy and living my life…. 😆

Hi there,

So is this still working for both of you ie Just to be happy every day, everywhere, everytime and to live consciously and courageously, and to enjoy everyday life – I bet it isnt…… I say this because these are merely statements, I believe that you need to dig a bit deeper to really get to the essence of real purpose. In terms of just being happy no matter or enjoying everyday life what happens when there is a death of a loved one? Or in our present circumstances where there are stabbings almost everyday and the threat of inflation looming over us – then what???

Dear owner of this blog,

I hope you will not consider my post as a spam, and you will give me an opportunity to invite you and your readers to my website. It is a creative project without ads and it is totally free. So, let’s see, what it is about:

According to a statistics, there are 430 million English speaking internet users. Are they enough to answer the biggest question? What would happen if all of them visited this website and wrote a sentence? Would we find the ultimate answer? I don’t think so, but who knows…
Our only goal is to collect as many of these sentences as possible.
What about you? Have you ever thought about the reason of life? Do you have a minute to do that now?
We just need a sentence! It can be funny or serious, happy or sad, philosophical or casual. It can be your own thought or a quote from your favourite writer or just from the grocer around the corner.
It has to meet just one requirement! It should be one of the endless possible answers to the question:
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE? http://www.imeanlife.com
