Very interesting, especially the part about the turtles. I sincerely hope that they can be observed without harm coming to them.

When will the Rosalie Bay Resort open? How can I get information about the resort? We are planning to come to Dominica in February 2008 & may want to stay there if it is open. Thank you.

Hi Serrrie,

It’s funny that you asked this question. Just last week I met the Owners of Rosalie Bay Resort, and asked them the very same question. They told me that they’re hoping to open the resort sometime between Oct – Nov 2007 if everything goes as planned. As for more information, I’m guessing by then the resort will have it’s website up and running.

I can’t wait to see how this resort turns out.

My husband and I were there in 04 and met with the owners of the resort as well as Marine Biologist Rowan Byrne. It was very interesting all of the awareness that Rosalie Sea Turtle Initiative, ROSTI , was doing to educate the locals about these amazing Leatherbacks. We were even lucky enough to go out at night to stay with the men while they patroled the beach so no one would interfere with the turtles coming up to lay their eggs.

This resort will be a fine resort when it is completed, they have had many challenges to overcome. Even if the resort isn’t open when you visit Dominica there are so many things the island has to offer it is very diverse and the people were very nice. I hope to return to Dominca very soon. The diving is GREAT! However, if you go to dive, take time to see the inland part of the island, the forests are amazing. If you are planning to drive, note the roads are very narrow and you must be a very laid back person. If you get nervous easily DON”T DRIVE.

Your visit will be much more enjoyable if you plan ahead and do some homework. There are many people who have land for sale, you can find them online and you can get a wealth of information from them.

Go to Dominca and enjoy! Keep up the great work ROSI! I hope to stay at your resort soon and would like to be notified when it is opened.

The resort is a paradise adventure! I look forward to the opening of Rosalie Bay Resort I have had the opportunity to be able to be on site and I look forward to my return. The Resort is beautifully placed along the coast of Dominica with the outstanding architectural design cottages and the environmentally perfectly placed landscaping design. I have seen the development phases of Rosalie Bay Resort and I look forward to bringing my family to stay and to be able to experience what I have seen on my visits. I would classified Rosalie Bay Resort as a five star.

My wife and I recently visited your beautiful island on a cruise and despite being given some negative comments about getting off in Dominica we hired a taxi for a short tour of the island. We were overcome by the beauty and peacefulness and decided that we must return for a vacation.

We asked our taxi driver to show us the best hotel on the island and he took us to Rosalie Bay because he said that although it was not yet open it would be the best on the island and that he had met the manager and said he was a fantastic guy.

When we arrived at Rosalie Bay we were greeted warmly by the security man who called the manager and he then told us that the manager would be delighted to show us around. We were stunned when the manager, Kenny Watson, walked up to us because we know him well from visiting Tobago. Kenny used to be the manager of Plantation Beach in Tobago, and for us it is the best in the Caribbean and we return often.

The resort is absolutely spectacular and we just fell in love with the ambiance and overall natural beauty. We also loved the idea of the cottages spread out over a large area and not all the rooms in 1 building. We can’t wait to the opening day.

Good luck Kenny and we will see you just as soon as you open.

For those wishing to find out further details on the hotel’s opening, please visit their website at http://www.rosaliebay.com. There you will be able to find all of the information that you desire. Based on word on mouth by a friend who is closely linked to the resort, i can say that they will be accepting guests towards the end of October and early November of this year.
