Crowd at Creole in the Park

LIME Creole in the Park suffered a somewhat poor turnout on Day 1, and Day 2 got off of a similarly slow start.

But with the Midnight Groovers, Swinging Stars, and the Carib Calypso Connection featuring some Dominica’s most popular calypsonians to hurrah on the main stage later in the day, day 2 ramped up to an awesome high note.

A sunny to partly cloudy weather forecast seemed to keep many people home until mid-afternoon.

Shades of Green, Midnight Groovers, and Marie Claire Giraud all had to work with the crowds they were given, but thankfully the park began to fill as Swinging Stars took the stage.

One of my favorite acts on Day 2 was the Carib Calypso Connection featuring Bobb, Soul Puss, Observer, Tasha P, Sye, Hunter, Prospser, Daddy Chess, Dice, and Karessah. Fans responded in kind to the favorite calypsonians, whose energy and interaction kept the crowds hot while the temperature began to drop.

Like you, dear readers, I can’t wait to see what happens on Day 3, with WCK, The Menace, The kase & Smokie Cut, and Peter Ram from Barbados all on the lineup is definitely expected to draw a huge crowd.
