Carnival Monday 2010: Photo Highlights

Dominica Carnival Monday 2010 kicked into high gear early Monday morning with the traditional J’Ouvert Morning Street Jump up, Ole Mas Parade, and ended with the annual T-shirt Band.

The weather cooperated this year and provided the requisite tropical heat to go along with the saucy dancing and the all rum drinking.

All in all, Carnival Monday was a day of smiles and good vibes. I can’t wait to see what happens on Carnival Tuesday — should be exciting!

Carnival Monday and Tuesday 2009 – Photo Highlights

Following 2 days of mass and revelry Dominica Carnival 2009 came to a close on Tuesday February 24, 2009 as revelers, locals and tourist alike took to the streets to enjoy themselves one last time.

On the road to wind down the festivities were local bands like Triple Kay, Fanatic Band, and WCK.

The season has been arguably one of the better and more peaceful carnival seasons in years past; thatâ€™s coming from the carnival organizers.

But after randomly asking some of the revelers â€“ what they thought of this yearâ€™s carnival, while some expressed similar views, others thought that carnival has changed for the worse and the passion is gone.

I personally didnâ€™t attend much to the events for Carnival 2006/2007, but compared to the last two seasons, this yearâ€™s carnival lacked enthusiasm/passion that makes our carnival one the better carnivals in Caribbean.
