The Government of Dominica Will Take On Costs Of Medical Expenses For Three Year Old Alton John Jules

Government will pay off the medical fees for three year old Alton John Jules. Alton John Jules is currently in hospital in Martinique, after being involved in a vehicular accident Sunday March 19th 2008.

Father of Alton, Arlington John Jules was fearful finances were delayed, but representative for the Goodwill North constituency Julius Timothy explains that all the monies have been set aside, but the Ministry of Health Officials have not informed the Hospital in Martinique that the finances are underway.

Police Prosecutors Sharpen Their Skills At Four Day Program

Prosecutors of the Dominica Police Force are attending a four day program meant to enhance their skills in the court room. Several areas will be covered through the program including the job of the prosecutor, and cross examination of witnesses. The program is conducted by the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and according to Public Relations Officer of Police Inspector Claude Weekes, it is directed at the needs of the police department in Dominica.

Dominica To Sign Agreement With WIBDECO

Banana farmers on the island will soon have a range of services offered to them by the National Fair-trade Organization of Dominica (NFTO). The organization is embarking upon signing a sales and purchase agreement with the Windward Islands Banana Development and Exporting Company Limited (WIBDECO). Lately the National Fair Trade Organization of St. Lucia signed a similar agreement, a sales and purchase agreement.

First Caribbean Bank Donates $1000 to DADP and Calls Centre

The Calls Center of Portsmouth and the Dominica Association of Disabled People are both in a better position to handle their affairs financially, after First Caribbean Bank donated a cheque of one thousand dollars each to the organizations.

Business Support Officer of the First Caribbean Bank Glenna Williams said “this initiative is part of the First Caribbean bank monthly donations to needy institutions.”

A Call for Men to Uphold Their Positions in Society

Thirteen Members of the Masters Academy- a school based in Canada is presently on island to host a few activities under its mission program with the youth on island.

One of the team leaders of Masters Academy Missions Program Tracy Francis says a number of activities are set for their sixteen day stay on the island. She said “This last week we’ve been holding a VBCS Camp for the kids here at the church, on Saturday we’ll begin to work with the orphanage and meeting some people within the community, going down to the market, speaking to people.”

Wesley Community Beginnings Activities in Celebration of Its Reunion

Residences of Wesley will hold several activities during the course of March and April in celebration of the community’s reunion under the theme: ‘Lets Unite and Relate in 2008.’ Coordinator of the Wesley village Reunion Committee Senator Gloria Shillingford says “that the event was brought about to take the development of the community in the right direction and to shape the environment.”
