In 2006 I first learned of the habit of reading one book every week (on average), with most of them being in the field which you desire develop expertise in. If my calculations are correct that’s about 50 books a year. International speaker, author – Brian Tracy explains that this habit will make you an international expert in your chosen field within 6-7 years. Imagine if you work in Advertising. If you read 50 books on advertisement this year, will that make a difference in your success at advertising? Hell Yeah!
I decided to adopt this habit from October 2007 to October 2008. I’m going to attempt reading 50 different books or other publications on Intellectual Property Rights. Though this is not my area of expertise but I’m fascinated by the whole idea behind Trademarks, Patents and Industrial Designs. I’m a bit skeptical that this habit of reading 50 books will transform me into an IP expert but what the hell. Is there a field of expertise that you‘re in presently? Try the habit of reading a book a week. If you’re kind of person who forgets everything as soon as you read it, then it won’t be of much value.
It works 🙂
Bryan Tracy audio is good to motivate on success.
